ONCE again that little Englander, N G Charnley, has put pen to paper, stating that the Euro is universally hated.
It's ten to one he has never used it and being a little Englander has probably never been abroad. Last year I used the Euro in Spain and it was great and the lovely part about it, I was given a mixture of German and French coins in the change.
I thought isn't that wonderful...?50 years ago when I went to war, being a little Englander I would have said such a common currency was impossible, but thank goodness it has come about.
Again the patriotic Mr Charnley should read what Dr S Johnson said about patriotism.
It's the last refuge of something or other, I forget now, but I thought it was true at the time.
I have much more faith in the British public, after all they voted in a Labour Government and when the time comes they will have the same sense to vote in the Euro.
