GREEN Hall Primary's annual Industry Day again proved popular with youngsters captivated by the contrasting features of career occupations open to them.
Police dogs and horses and the Fire Brigade were featured at the Atherton school and Leigh Centurions skipper Adam Bristow put eager children through their rugby paces.
In the main hall a couple of National Hunt jockeys gave everyone a chance to ride the equicizer, (a mechanical horse) and wear their favoured silks. Salford University lecturer Lex Thakur talked children through the intricacies of engineering while experts from Warburton's gave a bakery demonstration.
The hands-on industry experiencewas backed by Leigh Education Action Zone and organised by RALI (Raising Attainment through Links with Industry) co-ordinator Ben Aitken.
Leigh EAZ advisory teacher Glenn Aspinall said: "The youngsters enjoyed the experience of meeting business people and finding out for themselves about career opportunities."
