A SINGER-songwriter with just one live gig to her name is creating a major impact in the music industry.

Sara Lowes, from Barrowford, will be playing a special showcase gig at Pendle Hippodrome on Tuesday at which representatives from no fewer than10 different record labels are expected to be present.

The 20-year-old is being managed by Burnley musician Bruce Thomas -- known primarily as a member of The Rubbish -- and Simon Webbe, the man behind the chart sensations Blue.

Bruce said: "The amount of interest in Sara is phenomenal.

"To get so many record companies interested in an artist is almost unprecedented. We hope that as many local people as possible come along to the Hippodrome to create a great atmosphere.

"They'll be amazed when they hear how good Sara is."

Sara has already been working in the studio on some self-penned tracks.

They have been produced by Gareth Cousins, for seven years the house producer at the famous Abbey Road Studios and a man who has worked with Sting and Kate Bush.

"Sara is the first unsigned artist Gareth has ever worked with," said Bruce.

"Sara's first-ever gig was last month at the Goodnight Club in Nelson and she's got people travelling up from London to see her perform.

"We are all very excited."

Sara Lowes will be appearing at Pendle Hippodrome on Tuesday night. Tickets, priced £3, are available on the door.
