IF you don,t do anything else this weekend, place a big red ring in your diary around Sunday, August 24.

For that's when Lancashire's biggest clubbing event takes place -- and once again, it's in the heart of the Ribble Valley!

Every year for the last two years, the cream of Lancashire's DJs have upped sticks and gone for a day out to De Tabley in Ribchester, transforming the venue into a mecca for clubbers everywhere.

Three events have been held so far, all using a Carry On theme, and while that theme hasn't made the grade, there will be plenty more carrying on from previous years successes.

This time it is called Peek A Boo! and is being presented by Funktion, the Chorley-based clubbing outfit who have a regular weekly session at Revolution in Preston.

House music weaves a fine thread through the three arenas and one terrace area which have been set up.

In Arena One -- the Funktion arena -- one of the original Godfathers of House, Marshall Jefferson, one of the men who helped define the genre which so many enjoy today.

In 1986, he played piano on a House record for the first time. The idea was so innovative at the time the record companies refused to say it was House.

That record was Move Your Body, which went on to be known as The House Music Anthem.

He,s remained a leading name in the House music movement ever since and his appearance at the Peek A Boo! event is a real coup. He's joined by Hatty Lovehearts, Seamus Haji and Chorley's Jodie Finch, a regular at Funktion.

Arena Two brings on the classics with the Fuzzy Logic classics arena. Da Mentalistz, Rick Napier, Greg Bamber and Dave Dalton -- all well-known on the local club scene -- joine a certain Mark Freejack.

For all the big dance tunes, the Heineken tent hosts Matt Rycroft, Bhavik, Mark Sprakes, Matt Pinner, Ian Rigby, DJ Simba, Matt Tinket and Locky.

While out on The Terrace, the Out in the Sticks boys make the move from Todmorden to the Ribble Valley for the day. It,s gonna be big there, with hip hop and r'n'b being added into the mix as four decks are powered up by X Force, Damo Shaker and Russ Marland.

It all takes place on Sunday August 24 -- the day after Creamfields if you really want to make it a bank holiday to remember -- and starts at 2pm running through until 2am.

Tickets are £13 for Funktion members, £15 for others. Advance tickets can be bought at Lance Menswear and Townsend Records in Chorley; V2 Menswear in Blackburn; De Tabley in Ribchester or by calling the ticket hotline on 0115 912 9000.
