CHILDREN this summer can take advantage of an educational summer school. Jane Mutchell is running the school at St Paul's Church Centre, Constablelee, Rawtenstall, for two weeks from August 18.
Jane, a secondary school teacher, said: "The aim of the summer school is to help children with their self-esteem and self-confidence before they start their new school year. Children lacking in self-confidence sometimes don't do as well in certain subjects and it's not because they can't do it, it's because they don't have the confidence."
Children attending the school will take part in arts and crafts activities, poetry, discussion and Shakespeare.
Two sessions will be held each day from 10.30am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm and 3.30pm at a cost of £8 per sessions and open to children aged eight to 13.
