RELATIVES of a man found dead at a Haslingden caravan park last week are wanted by police to help with inquiries into his death.

Bryan Jeffers, who lived at Holden Valley Caravan Park off Grane Road, was found by police with stab wounds on June 26.

Thomas McGrady, 48, known locally as Jim, also of Holden Valley Caravan Park, has been charged with murder.

But, so far, police investigating the death have been unable to trace any relatives of the 35-year-old man.

His body was identified by Gabrielle Tattersall, who was described at an inquest yesterday as Mr Jeffers' friend and landlady.

The inquest, held at Burnley Magistrates Court, heard that Mr Jeffers was found by police at 9am. The inquest was told he had been involved in a violent altercation during which he received a number of stab wounds.

A cause of death has still not been established, despite a post mortem examination being carried out. Police are awaiting the results of a toxicology report.

Anyone with information about Mr Jeffers' family should contact Pennine Police on 01254 425001, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
