AS A Blackburn Rovers fan, I'm gutted 'Dunny' has decided to leave. He lived the dream, though briefly, of every single Rovers supporter by donning our famous shirt.
I'm sad he appears to have tossed his dream and all his hard work aside, just because of some criticism from his manager, which most people saw as 'motivational'.
I will always regard him as a Rovers fan playing for a different team, in much the same way as I regard James Beattie. But I question whether we really need a player who was unable to rise above the situation and accept the criticism from his manager and go on to prove him wrong.
On the other hand, should Graeme Souness see this as a lesson learned and try different motivational tactics in future before other players of the same ability and, with it, mentality leave under a cloud?
