A FORMER teacher from Barrowford crashed his car and hit a wall while more than three times the drink drive limit, a court was told.
Brian Williams, 56, of Stone Edge Road, was found by police sitting in his car after it crashed in Gisburn Road on Wednesday afternoon. He admitted driving with excess alcohol in his system at Burnley Magistrates Court yesterday.
The court was told Williams had started drinking on Wednesday after becoming worried about an impending house move. Defending, Nadeem Rashid said his client was of previously good character and did not realise the affect the alcohol would have on him.
Prosecuting, Tom Snape said Williams had been spoken to by a police officer at the scene of the crash. He added: "The police officer immediately became aware of alcohol and tested him."
He was banned from driving for 30 months, fined £300 and ordered to pay costs of £55.
