AN annual Rossendale gathering that celebrates the life of a Lancashire dialect poet is due to be held this month.
The Waugh's Well Gathering pays tribute to the life and work of Edwin Waugh, a popular Lancastrian poet with ties to the Rossendale Valley.
On Saturday, July 19, an event will be held on the moors between Cowpe and Edenfield.
Walkers can meet at the Royal Hotel, in Waterfoot, at 1.30pm for the start of a four-mile walk to the moors meeting place.
Organisers have said everyone is welcome to attend and poems can be contributed.
For further details about the event and arrangements, contact John B Taylor on 01706 874119.
