A ROSSENDALE motorcyclist died early today after his bike hit a parked car in Waterfoot.
Police said Ronald Hodgkinson, of New Brighton Street, lost control of his bike while driving in Burnley Road East.
The 31-year-old was said to have received serious head injuries after colliding with a parked Rover Metro.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The road was closed while accident investigators recorded details of the crash.
A police spokesman said: "It looks as though Mr Hodgkinson's Suzuki failed to negotiate a bend and he lost control before hitting a parked car."
Police are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information should contact Pennine Police on 10282 425001.
Mr Hodgkinson's family were too upset to talk.
