STAFF and students at Tor View School have thanked local businesses for providing work experience for students with special needs.
Teenagers aged 16-19 in the Further Education Department at the Haslingden school took part in the work experience.
Janice Crowther, work placement co-ordinator, said: "Students have gained invaluable skills through the help of local businesses.
"The students gained first-hand experience of various working environments, learning new skills and a basic understanding of health and safety issues.
"They were also able to meet new people and develop working relationships with their work mates away from school, which goes a long way towards building self esteem and developing a positive self image."
The school is now appealing to local businesses and organisations who may be interested in providing work experience placements for the new school year.
Anybody who wants to help should contact Janice on 01706 214640.
