ASIAN midfielder Amjad Iqbal has linked up with Burnley for a pre-season trial.
The Farsley Celtic midfielder was another new face on show as the Clarets hit the training ground yesterday.
Iqbal is aiming to step up from the Unibond Premier League ranks to fulfil his dream of winning a professional career with a league club.
And the Clarets have jumped in first to offer the 22-year-old a chance to impress.
Celtic chairman John Palmer said: "It's a fantastic chance for Amjad and we are all hoping he makes it."
"From a purely selfish view we would be very sad to lose him, but this is a chance to progress and we can't hold the lad back."
Iqbal had the chance to join Conference outfit Doncaster Rovers last season, but elected to remain at Farsley and complete a degree course in chemical engineering.
He joined fellow trialist, former Manchester City defender Richard Edghill, as the Clarets squad returned to action and was put through their paces by manager Stan Ternent yesterday.
