STONEFOLD provided the drama in the Haslingden Schools Festival of Sport after a dramatic win in the rounders competition.
For Stonefold were forced to go in to 'extra time' against St James Primary School after both schools were locked on the same score after completing the match.
The tie meant that the final went to another innings and it was Stonefold who won by just one rounder.
The competition attracted seven teams from across the town in one of four sports that took place in the four day festival.
Broadway, Haslingden Primary, Helmshore, St Veronica's and St Mary's all took part in the rounders which was a knockout event.
Held at Helmshore Primary School, Stonefold and St James proved to be too strong for the host school and the other sides taking part as they progressed through to the final.
And it was their that Stonefold won the title -- but only after St James had forced another innings.
There was also a touch of drama in the football competition as the bad weather threatened to postpone the event before it was eventually forced indoors.
And this time it was Helmshore who emerged victorious in the round robin event that included six schools.
It was another tight finish in the football as well as Helmshore finished with 13 points from five games -- just one point ahead of St Mary's.
