CHILDREN who live or learn in and around Barrowford are being asked to get involved with this year's village agricultural show, which will be the first since 2000.
Youngsters can show off their baking skills, display their artistic talents or enter their unusual pets in two competitions in the show, which has been a feature of life in Pendle for 80 years.
Anyone who lives or goes to school in Blacko or Barrowford is eligible to enter the show, set to take place on August 31.
Children can enter a horticultural section or take part in an arts and crafts session. Any pet, apart from a cat or a dog, can be entered in the under-16s pet section.
The show has attracted thousands of people to East Lancashire in the past, but was called off in 2001 because of the foot-and-mouth crisis.
Organisers failed in a battle to stage it in 2002 but are hoping it will be better than ever on its return this year.
To enter a horticultural class call Deb Westwell on 01282 604696. For other classes call Cath Collis-Tattersall on 01282 618826.
