I refer to the column by Mohammed Nowaz in last months Asian Image.
I agree there has been an increase in the number of criminal cases within the Asian community. However, I see this as a general problem within society and not one primarily within our community. You are going to get this problem within any community where the majority of the population is young.
The reason there was very little made in the seventies and eighties was because much of the community were more disciplined to work.
Whilst I agree with some of the comments made by Mohammed Nowaz and feel they had to be said I think reasons like those I mentioned should have been included.
Similary, when an asylum seeker commits a crime it is splashed on every front page in the country. So it seems there is more crime taking place.
