IN answer to Eddie Duxbury's remarks (Letters, June 28), Councillor Mohammed Khan was legitimately upset because anonymous printed leaflets were circulated in Blackburn's Bank Top area suggesting that he was the owner of the former Three Pigeons public house on Oakenhurst Road.
This is simply not true and, given that Mr Duxbury clearly knows this, I would have thought he would sympathise with Coun Khan's sense of outrage.
Instead, he attempts to blame Coun Khan personally for the derelict state of this building.
What does he think that Coun Khan could have done to persuade the current owner to act in a more responsible way that council officers have not already done?
PHIL RILEY (Secretary -- Blackburn Labour Party), Pleckgate Road, Blackburn.
