A HOD carrier arrested in a rumpus over child maintenance had sworn at a police woman and challenged her to arrest him.
Burnley Magistrates Court heard how Michael Andrew Hunt, 35, was in the passenger seat of a car arguing with driver Andrew Bennett, his girlfriend's ex.
He told the officer :"You think you're clever because you wear that uniform," and was abusive.
Hunt, of Burnley Road, Padiham, admitted being drunk and disorderly. He was fined £50, with £50 costs.
Peter Reynolds, defending, said Hunt wanted to apologise to the officer. He lived with Mr Bennett's ex-partner.
Mr Bennett had not been paying child maintenance and "not pulling his weight", and the defendant's partner had been very upset about it. Hunt had taken it upon himelf to try and sort the matter out.
