COMMUNITIES in Burnley are set to be consulted as part of plans to regenerate the town.
Neighbourhood Action Plans will be put together setting out how the council intends to tackle the problems in Burnley Wood, Daneshouse and Stoneyholme and South West Burnley.
The plans for these areas are the first in a series to be rolled out to other areas in the town as part of Burnley's Elevate plans.
Burnley will benefit from a massive injection of Elevate money, which is providing nearly £1billion to transform rundown communities in East Lancashire.
Surveys, meetings with agencies, local groups and residents, and developing a series of options of how the areas could be regenerated as part of the project have all been carried out.
Councillors on the executive committee have approved a consultation exercise that will start at the end of this month.
A number of events will be held in Burnley Wood, Daneshouse and Stoneyholme and South West Burnley to raise awareness of the Neighbourhood Action Plans.
Michael Wellock, of the Housing Regeneration and Environment and Transport department, said: "People will be asked if we have got the boundaries right because they are not set in stone and this is part of the consultation exercise itself."
He also moved to assure residents that Padiham would not be left out of the proposals.
He added: "Somebody will be last and somebody will be first to see the benefits.
"But what we want to make clear is that the programme will impact on the whole of Burnley."
Following consultation, the findings will be reported to the executive meeting next month.
