IN RESPONSE to the letter last week asking why Green Ayre was chosen as the location for a skateboard park, I must ask why not?
Green Ayre is an great location. It's central, kids can skate while their parents are shopping and there is a shortage of free attractions for young people in the area. If anything the park should be bigger, with separate novice and expert sections, seating for parents, toilets and a burger bar.
I would be interested to know if there are any plans for the expansion of the park because I would be happy to contribute. Small tracks could be dotted all over the area to give kids more free options for their leisure .
Morecambe already has a prom-enade, amusements, bowling alley, park, a beach and a kart track not far away - and I believe Morecambe is due to get its own skate park soon.
