YOUNG disabled athletes will be competing in Blackpool this weekend (July 12-13) in the Disability Sport England national junior athletics championships.
The annual two-day event, starting at 9.45am on Saturday and 9.30am on Sunday takes place at usual venue Blackpool's Stanley Park stadium.
The track and field events will involve around 370 athletes, aged 12-20, including Blackpool's Shelly Woods, an Adidas Mini London Wheelchair Marathon star who has been hailed 'the next Tanni Grey-Thompson'.
