GOLBORNE CC 2nd XI had a poor weekend as they lost both their games against Clifton and Standish.
On Saturday they were bowled out for a modest total of 95 leaving Clifton to knock the runs off without the fall of any wickets.
The top scorers for Golborne were Urbani (16), Brunt (15) and Kelly (18). In reply both Clifton openers remained unbeaten as Davies hit 26 not out and Garner made an impressive 63 not out.
On Sunday Golborne performed much better as they batted first and made 180 for 7 off their 48 overs, but still Standish managed to outscore Golborne's total with one over to spare.
The star of Golborne's innings was undoubtedly Mike Ashmead. The wicketkeeper produced a crucial 62 with an array of boundaries.
