PLENTY of good racing was dished up on a fast, grippy Astley & Tyldesley track in last week's Manchester Cycle Speedway League Grand Prix Round.
On the night honours were just about shared between the competing Astley & Tyldesley and Tameside clubs, with Bury non-starters.
Maximum 16 point scores were recorded by Becky Heslop, Chris Eaton and Mark Wylie in the junior categories, with honours shared between Polish stars Pawel Kozlowski and Przemek Binkowski in the senior event. Tameside edged the junior match, but A & T easily took the senior category.
With less than a month to go to the World Championships, two more countries have announced their squads for the World Team Cup.
The World Championships will consist of a three day feast of Cycle Speedway racing over the weekend August 1-3, at both the Astley & Tyldesley and Bury tracks. Individual Qualifying Rounds will take place at both tracks on the Friday, with the action concentrated at Astley on the Saturday, featuring more Individual Qualifying Rounds and the World Team Cup Final.
Bury will host the racing on the Sunday which will see the Individual Semi-Finals held and the World Individual Final concluding the weekend's racing.
