TWO local lollipop women has been honoured for her all-weather dedication to making roads safer for children.
Susan Steward of Westleigh has been named Lollipop Person of the Year by the Leigh Journal.
Finally, Ethel Burns from Hindley has come runner-up in the Lollipop Person of the Year competition, sponsored by Renault's Safety Matters campaign.
To celebrate these achievements, the winners were chauffeur driven to Wigan Pier to meet the children who nominated them. A book of stories and poems about lollipop ladies, created by the children, was also presented.
