THE founding of the Shakerley Community Partnership marks an exciting new opportunity for the estate in Tyldesley.
The Partnership will have two buildings; a new nursery adjacent to Shakerley school and a community centre on Cumberland Avenue.
A new project, entitled 'Jigsaw', has been founded to provide opportunities for young people, including a youth club, outreach work, holiday care and trips. Early Years care and education will be in the hands of the new Neighbourhood Nursery.
As an umbrella organisation, many different groups including Mums and Tots, playschemes, Shakerley School and the Residents Group will be involved in the Partnership. New members and volunteers are welcome to join the group, and for information contact the Centre on 01942 879521.
