A GRANDMOTHER'S prized possessions are to be put up for sale as part of an ITV show being filmed in Burnley next week.

Lorraine Watson, 59, of New Hall Street, will star in daytime TV show Everything Must Go, a programme which organises house sales for people.

TV bosses hope residents in the area will flock to pick up bargains from the contents of Lorraine's home, which will all be sold off at Burnley Boy's Club, Barden Lane, from 3.30-5.30pm next Tuesday.

Lorraine is hoping to sell the majority of the possessions she has collected during her lifetime and wants to use the cash to buy a car to take her three grandchildren, aged between ten and 19, on holiday to Flamingoland, in Scarborough.

Lorraine, who used to work as a care assistant in Israel, is now a member of Queensgate Pentecostal Church.

She has lived in her house for nine years and said: "I've got a lot of stuff. It seems to have build up over the years and I'm hoping to sell most of it.

"The stuff to be sold are things I've collected over the years and includes what my mum left me when she died.

"I'm hoping it will be fun and that I can get enough money to buy a car so that I can take my grandchildren on a holiday."

Items on sale will include Clarice Cliff designer china plates, antique furniture, silver cigarette boxes, glass vases, china dolls, a 1960s display cabinet, paintings, ornaments and miniature tea sets.

A spokesman for Everything Must Go said: "Our sales are very much community events. The householder will be given a private valuation before throwing the doors open to eager buyers."

Anyone can attend the sale on Tuesday. The programme will be broadcast on ITV1 in September.
