REGARDING the sacking of Mick Spencer as lead singer of The Burn (LET, July 3), how disappointed I am that he has left the band.
As a follower of The Burn from the outset, watching them in the clubs and pubs around Blackburn, to me Mick has always been the heart and soul of the band, with his outstanding personality and charisma.
While not wishing to detract from the ability of the other members of the band and their obvious musical talents, I am doubtful if any of them will be capable of reproducing Mick's obvious attraction and magnetism towards an audience.
He will be sorely missed and I am certain that the majority of the female population who follow The Burn will be in agreement with me when I say that there will be a 'certain something' missing from the stage.
I am also of the opinion that the band will lose a considerable amount of local support due to this action.
