POLICE investigating an indecent assault on a 12-year-old boy in a car park toilet say they have had a good response to an appeal for information.,
But they would still like to hear from a man who they believe witnessed the attack.
Officers at Accrington CID issued an artist's impression of the man they are looking for earlier this week.
The incident happened in the toilets in the car park of Accrington's Arndale Centre on Tuesday, July 1.
A man wearing metal-rimmed glasses tried to push the youngster into a cubicle in the multi-storey car park. The boy escaped and reported the incident to police.
Detective Sergeant Paul Broxson, of Accrington CID, said: "We have had a good response in relation to the names for the artist's impression but I would still ask if that gentleman in the toilets would come forward. He has nothing to fear, he's a perfectly innocent party.
"This type of offence isn't usually a single offence, they have possibly committed this sort of offence in the past, possibly in different locations. If there are any victims of similar offences please come and speak to us. They will be treated with the strictest of confidence."
Anyone with any information should call Accrington CID on 01254 353741 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
