A 31-YEAR-OLD man is being questioned by police following the suspicious death of a 54-year-old man in Burnley.
James Heaton was discovered at his home in Montgomery Grove at around 3.48am on Sunday by Lancashire Ambulance staff.
Police officers were called to the scene a short time later.
A police spokeswoman said: "There had been some kind of incident at the address between him and another man.
"A man is now in custody at Burnley Police Station, where he is being questioned about the death. We are treating it as suspicious."
A post-mortem examination has been carried out by a Home Office pathologist although an exact cause of death is yet to be established.
Karen Parker, 38, a neighbour, said: "We haven't really seen any police or anything at the house but we were out most of the day.
"It has come as a real shock because it is quiet around here and you wouldn't expect anything like this to happen."
