THE House on the Corner, in Bacup, opened its doors to all budding crafters on Saturday.
The new business venture based in Market Street, will involve a programme of workshops to help local people learn new crafts.
Experienced crafters will be able to enhance and share their skills and knowledge, as well as make new friends.
The opening event represented a personal achievement for proprietor Lorna Winstanley, who has been making her own bears and handcrafted greetings cards for three years.
Lorna, who will be managing the business alongside her husband, Mike, said: "I have had a lot of enjoyment over the years making bears and cards and since supplying businesses in Bacup and Rawtenstall, I have received a number of very positive comments about my work.
"This convinced me to try to set up a business selling craft supplies, as well as handcrafted cards and gifts.
"It is great news that we can establish the business in Bacup because there is a lot of work currently going on to regenerate the area and it will be fantastic to be a part of that."
Refreshments and a quiz with craft prizes up for grabs were just some of the things on offer on Saturday.
