A WOMAN had a lucky escape when the car she was travelling in somersaulted out of control in Blackburn town centre.
Deborah Grant, 27, of Ingleby Close, Blackburn, suffered a bruised shoulder when the Ford Escort car driven by Wesley Smith, 25, of Azalea Road, Blackburn, crashed at the junction of Salford and Ciceley Lane at 11am on Saturday .
Police said the car was overtaking a white Honda, driven by Arfan Kapabi, 34, of Accrington Road, Blackburn, turning into Vicar Street, when it collided with four stationary cars, hit a lamp post and overturned. Paramedics and fire crews from Blackburn worked to cut her free. She was taken to Blackburn Royal Infirmary and later released.
