CHEERLEADERS swept awards at a major competition and topped off their training by performing with a top team of British arm wrestlers.
The Dance and Performing Arts Centre (DAPA) cheerleaders, of Eanam Wharf, Blackburn, won a host of awards at the UK Alliance Cheer Competition held at the Empress ballroom Winter Gardens in Blackpool, attended by some 500 competitors.
In solo events in the 16 years and over category, Gemma Cocker, Emily Croyden, Michelle Rowell and Katie Fry took the top five slots bar second.
And the DAPA Terriers maintained first place in the adult section to be crowned UKU Cheer Champions.
The seniors performed at the British Arm Wrestling Federation in Blackburn and Trafford centre.
Jayne Vernon, principal, said: "These squads have worked well together in a short space of time and have achieved very pleasing results."
