A COACH and emergency funds are needed to help give children, whose parents were made redundant from Crown Wallcoverings, a holiday to remember.
Organisers are in desperate need of the coach to take the children on a day out and money to pay for the special day.
Derwent Hall, a registered charity and meeting place for people aged over 55, is helping to raise the emergency funds and has raised nearly £100 so far.
A total of 177 people were made redundant at the beginning of the month, leaving families with no money for the summer holidays.
Tracy Jones, 40, of Somerset Avenue, said: "We are in desperate need of a coach to take the kids away for a day so if anyone could donate us one it would be a massive help.
"We are also wanting funds to take the children away because their parents cannot afford it anymore. Kevin, my husband, was made redundant and now we can't take our daughter, Caitlin, away on a camping trip we had planned."
Anyone wishing to donate money should contact Tracy on 01254 703623 or Derwent Hall on 01254 702259. Donations can also be dropped off at The Grotto stall in Darwen Market.
