PRESTON could pick up their first silverware of the season tomorrow night when they face Chorley in their opening pre-season fixture.
A trophy honouring the memory of Jack Kirkland, Chorley FC's former chairman who died last year and was a big PNE fan, will be awarded to the team which comes out on top on Wednesday night.
It will be the first of three pre-season friendlies North End play this week. After the Chorley game, it's a trip to Bamber Bridge on Thursday and then back to Deepdale on Saturday to face Hibernian.
North End play Yeovil, Team Bath and Bristol Rovers as part of a West Country tour before returning to Lancashire to face Accrington Stanley on Thursday, July 31, and Everton at Deepdale on August 2.
Despite the enticing prospect of beating a Premiership opposition - not to mention one managed by David Moyes - Craig Brown is adamant all minds focus on the opening league fixture, on August 9, against West Ham.
