LUKE Chadwick has declared there will be 'more where that came from' after hitting Burnley's winner in their victory at Stoke on Saturday.

The on-loan Manchester United winger scored his first goal for the Clarets as they cancelled out their three successive defeats at the start of the campaign with their third consecutive Division One victory.

Chadwick's 27th-minute strike put Burnley 2-0 up after his former Old Trafford team-mate David May had given them the lead at the Britannia Stadium.

And after helping his side comfortably hold on for a 2-1 win, 22-year-old Chadwick revealed his relief at getting off the mark following a series of missed chances in his six previous appearances this season.

Chadwick said: "I want to score more goals now and that's something I need to add to my game.

"I've had a few chances since I've been here and I've missed some sitters, so I really should have scored before now.

"But I got my chance today and it crept under the keeper so now I hope to take a few more. I haven't scored enough goals throughout my career, but if I get a long run in the team I'll get the chances and hopefully put them away."

Chadwick has every confidence that his team-mates will continue to tee-up the scoring opportunities because of the quality of the football they've been playing this season.

And it's finally starting to pay off as the Clarets moved into the top 10 of the table by adding the scalp of Stoke to the previous two victories over Gillingham and Crewe.

"I feel as though I'm playing in a good footballing side," said Chadwick, who is well-qualified to comment having been used to rubbing shoulders with the likes of Beckham, Scholes and Keane in his fledgling career.

"A lot of teams at this level play route-one stuff but we get it down and, as you saw today, play a lot of good football.

"We have good players here. Robbie Blake is a great player to have in your team and all the new players came in and did well today.

"I've got a full season ahead of me now and I can't wait for every game, I'm really enjoying myself.

"It was worrying when we were losing games but we weren't playing that badly, we were creating chances and playing quite well. But now we're getting what we deserve."

Andy Todd made his first appearance after joining on loan from Blackburn and teamed up with May in a centre back pairing manager Stan Ternent described as "magnificent."

Their partnership allowed Graham Branch to play left midfield and he set up both goals as Burnley won at the Britannia Stadium for the second successive season.

Bolton's Delroy Facey and Gareth Farrelly also slotted seamlessly into the side but Farrelly limped off midway through the second half.

"He got a knock so he'll have an X-ray, but fingers crossed he's okay," said Ternent.
