POLICE have appealed for witnesses to a fight in a Darwen wine bar in which a man was stabbed and another suffered a broken nose.
DC Scott Waddington, of Darwen CID, said two brothers were escorted out of Marley's Wine Bar, in Belgrave Road, after a brawl on the first floor around 11.30pm on Friday.
There was another incident outside when two other men involved left the building.
A 31-year-old man suffered a two-inch puncture wound to the side of his body, along with cuts and bruises. DC Waddington said it was not known whether it was caused by a knife or a broken bottle. The man's 33-year-old brother suffered a broken nose and needed stitches above his eye.
Both were arrested with two other men and all four were released on police bail pending further inquiries.
DC Waddington said: "We would ask anyone with information on what happened prior to the first fight to come forward." Contact Darwen CID on 01254 353842.
