RECENTLY I left a shopping bag on the Mellor bus and immediately telephoned Blackburn Transport's lost property office. A very helpful member of staff telephoned the bus driver at the Mellor terminus and he confirmed having my bag.

Lost Property asked me to wait by the bus stop, where the driver on his journey back to town would return my bag, which he did.

This incident took place within a 30-minute time span, sparing me a further journey to town to report the loss and a grateful passenger was reunited with her shopping!
