LANCASHIRE County Council are to be thanked for the prompt action they took in cutting back the bushes, grass and nettles on Swain Lane, footpath number 41.

ST John's Church raised £6,062 at their Art and Crafts Fair. Big thank you to everyone who helped or attended. At total of 320 slices of lemon meringue pie were consumed during the week. Next year's Art and Crafts Fair will be held from July 31 to August 8.

KEEP Worsthorne-with-Hurstwood Rural Action Group have identified a number of grot spots in the village and the Parish Clerk is to report them to Environmental Health. The Action Group are holding a fundraising quiz on September 25 in the Bay Horse at 8pm. All welcome.

REHEARSALS for the Christmas Concert commence on Wednesday, September 24, at 7.30pm in the church and will continue each Wednesday until the concert weekend, on December 5 and 6

THE Parish Councillors are concerned that the access to the new development on the Pike Hill side of Brownhill Road is dangerous, and the Parish Clerk is to write to the Planning Department.

WORSTHORNE School will be exhibiting some of the children's artwork at Pendle Heritage Centre from September 27, along with seven other schools of a similar size and character. Everyone is welcome to go along and view the Batik and be amazed at the children's talent.
