PENDLE celebrated becoming the first-ever Fairtrade Borough by becoming green champions.
The council will be ensuring products are bought through Fairtrade -- buying food and drink from growers and producers for which a guaranteed fair price has been agreed. Produce includes bananas, pineapple juice, mangoes, coffee, tea, chocolate cake, red and white wine, and chocolate bars to name a few.
And the council have also launched their own cocktail -- The Pendle Thrill -- inspired by Pendle Hill.
The drink includes one of the most famous ingredients in East Lancashire, Benedictine, as well as Cuban rum and 'fair trade' tropical fruit juice.
