LITTER pickers have been busy tidying parts of Leigh.
The Wigan Council street scene team linked with volunteers from Christ Church at Pennington and Festival Manchester to improve open land at Bonnywell Road and the entrance to Pennington Country Park.
Organiser Chris Bamber from Christ Church said: "The young people who got involved thoroughly enjoyed themselves and took great pride in their work.
"Leigh's young Christian community are delighted to have helped improve the local environment. Now we're joining the Council's Roadside Care Scheme to help keep this area looking smart with regular litter picks and bulb planting."
Street Scene co-ordinator Paul Dandy explained: "This is another brilliant partnership improving our borough for everyone."
