BURY Thai boxer Scott Quigg is being tipped to become a superstar in his chosen sport by the man who brought the combat over to the UK.
Master Sken Kaewpading made the bold statement after watching Scott destroy his proteg in just 30 seconds of their bout.
Fourteen-year-old Scott is trained by Darren Phillips at the GFC Muay Thai gym on Cobden Street, Bury, and took the British Title last Sunday with a unanimous points victory over Sale's Danny Fitzpatrick.
Fitzpatrick is the only competitor ever to beat Scott in over 20 bouts and it was sweet revenge for the talented Elton High School pupil.
Scott's next aim is to defend his title at the GFC show due to be held in Oldham on October 18 before he will take on fighters in a higher weight category in preparation for a trip to Thailand within 18 months.
Also fighting with the gym is Scott's older brother Ken and Scott Chadwick, a double British Champion.
The aim of the gym is not just to train fighters as less than 5 per cent of members actually compete. Family members of all ages invited to join in with the fitness training.
