POLICE arrested a father-of-four after he pretended to urinate against a patrol car in the early hours.
Burnley magistrates heard how Mark Conroy, 27, also came out with stupid comments and made a nuisance of himself as officers tried to breath-test three drivers.
He was warned about his behaviour, carried on being abusive and when he was arrested. The defendant then put up a struggle and had to be taken to the ground, before spending six hours in custody.
Conroy, of Creswick Avenue, Burnley, admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour on September 7.
The magistrates, who told him his language had been totally unacceptable, fined him £100 and ordered him to pay £55 costs.
Mark Williams, defending, said Conroy had not been going to urinate against the police car but was having a joke with friends. That was why he was smiling, but the police clearly did not find it funny.
