A BEEF packer who armed himself with a baseball bat before a fight was fined £75.
Burnley Magistrates were told how Kieron Wright, 20, had received a phone call from a man telling him he was coming round for a fight.
Wright, of Park Drive, Nelson, admitted possessing a baseball bat and must also pay £65 costs.
Peter Wild, prosecuting, told the court that police were called to Brunswick Street, Nelson, in the early hours after reports of an disturbance.
Police later found a baseball bat in a nearby garden, which Wright admitted was his.
Duncan Nightingale, defending, said a man had phoned the defendant and told him he was going round for a fight.
Wright went into the street to see if he could see the man who eventually arrived with what appeared to be a lump hammer.
He added the defendant had risen to a challenge when he shouldn't have done. Perhaps the worst thing was that he had lost his good character.
