A 19 YEAR-old man who was attacked and robbed of his footwear took a 'a boot for a boot' revenge when he saw a pair of Rockports in a vestibule.
Blackburn magistrates heard that Michael Anthony Holden tip-toed down the garden path and stole the boots before hot-footing it down the road.
But the 14-year-old owner of the £150 Rockports gave chase and followed Holden to his dad's house where police later found him still wearing one of the boots.
Holden, 19, of Lonsdale Street, Accrington, pleaded guilty to burglary and the case was adjourned until October 3 for the preparation of pre-sentence reports.
Clare Fanning, prosecuting, said youngsters playing football saw Holden take the boots from the porch and put them on before running off. "There was something of a chase along Pringle Street, but he got to his father's house where he was later arrested," she said.
Jonathan Taylor, defending, said Holden was on his way to visit his father when he was attacked and the people removed his shoes. He was barefoot as he continued on his way and when he saw the boots through an open door he couldn't resist the temptation," said Mr Taylor.
"He had been drinking and, as he told the police who found him wearing one of the boots, he didn't know what had happened to the other."
