A PETITION against plans to turn a town centre pub into an amusement arcade is due to be formally presented to councillors in Blackburn this week.
On July 2, a planning application to turn the White Bull Hotel, now JAM, in Church Street, into an amusement centre was submitted to Blackburn with Darwen Council. Then a petition containing 19 signatures was sent in.
This petition will be presented to members of the planning and highways committee on Thursday.
Protesters against the development say the plans would not fit in with the regeneration of Church Street and would not add to the character or vitality of the area.
The Civic Society, the Chamber of Trade and the Dean of nearby Blackburn Cathedral are among those who signed the petition.
