THE key moments and player ratings from the game against Margate.
JON KENNEDY: Left exposed by his defence for both Margate's goals and a third chance which Che Stadhart squandered. Other than that not overly tested 7
PETER CAVANAGH: Shining light in an otherwise below par back line. Control and distribution were spot on and his free kick led to the winner 7
STEVE HOLLIS: Didn't cover well enough before Greg Oates scored Margate's second goal but defence as a whole had off an day 6
ROBBIE WILLIAMS: Manny Omoyinmi used his pace and tricks to beat him at numerous opportunities. However, he recovered to make some important clearances after break though 6
JONATHAN SMITH: His towering header set up Stanley's third goal but, in defence, he would be disappointed not to have done better to prevent Margate's two goals 6
ANDY PROCTER: Showed great power and determination to win the ball, then a cool head to set up winner after a disappointing first half 7
ANDY GOUCK: Distribution wasn't up to scratch on a couple of occasions but, as usual, worked hard to get possession. Sometimes caught out by Margate's pace 6
BRIAN WELCH: Earned first start of season and worked consistently to impress. Would have liked to have seen more of the ball before making way for John Durnin 7
LUTEL JAMES: Placed on the right but with Rory Prendergast on opposite flank gave Stanley real attacking impetus and thoroughly deserved his two goals 8
PAUL MULLIN: Won a lot in the air and had a couple of chances after linking well with James and Durnin 7
RORY PRENDERGAST: Real box of tricks and caused endless problems for Margate all over the pitch with his pace, crosses and set-piece quality 8
SUBS USED: John Durnin (for Welch 58) 7; Gordon Armstrong (for Gouck 79) 6.
SUBS NOT USED: Andy Waine, Steve Flitcroft, Steve Halford.
