PRESTWICH HEYS...0 NEW MILLS...2: Home and away fixtures against New Mills didn't bring any joy for Heys. The first team lost 2-0 at Sandgate and the reserves were beaten 5-2 in Derbyshire.
After the deserved 2-1 win over Leigh Athletic, this was the opposite as they showed little of the ability of which they are capable. New Mills are not too adventurous in their attitude to the game but they hardly had to break sweat to thwart a Heys side dismally lacking in ideas.
It all added up to a poor game throughout the 90 minutes.
A goal in each half, the first from the penalty shot by Buckley and the second by Lugsden, sealed the win. It would be difficult to remember any worthwhile moments in the game, and Heys can reflect that the season is still young and things can only get better.
