SHOPPERS in Rawtenstall will be treated to an unusual sight on Thursday as supermarket staff will be donning tutus to raise money to fight breast cancer.
Staff from the Asda store will be dressing up and pushing trolleys through the market and shopping areas to collect donations for Breast Cancer Care as part of a series of events taking place this week.
Their less adventurous colleagues have paid £1 each to ditch their traditional green uniforms in favour of "tickled pink" shirts, which are being sold in the store alongside a range of other official merchandise.
All of the profit from the pink items will go directly to the Breast Cancer Care charity.
Store manager Mike Hockney said: "We're tickled pink to be supporting Breast Cancer Care.
"Our campaign gives people the opportunity to raise money for a really worthwhile charity while having fun at the same time.
"There's a pink product in store for everybody and it's all going to help support Breast Cancer Care."
The trolley pushers will be leaving from the store's main entrance dressed in their tutus at 10am on Thursday.
