BACUP will go into tonight's game at Mossley confident after a good performance against UniBond First Division outfit Bamber Bridge in the FA Cup on Saturday.

But they couldn't really ask for a more difficult encounter to bounce back from their 2-0 defeat than a trip to Seel Park.

Nevertheless, manager Brent Peters was impressed with his sides work-rate and is hoping Saturday's cup tie will have given his players food for thought for the rest of their league campaign.

"We didn't release the ball at the correct time and our passing left a lot to be desired at times," he said.

"What we must do is take a leaf out of Bamber Bridge's book in terms of how they created and finished their second goal. It had quality written all over it."

He added: "There was no doubt our system and play at the start of the game caused Bamber Bridge problems.

"When the chances come you have to take them and we had two excellent chances at a time when they were uneasy and it was still goalless."
