YOUNGEST brother Michael Johnson will join a Ramsbottom family line-up when he runs in this year's BUPA Great North Run.

For on the starting line right alongside the 17-year-old college student will be his three older brothers William, Tim and Andy, and dad Peter.

Michael has been pounding the pavements between his home in The Paddock, and his grandmother's house in Bolton to prepare for the 13-mile run between Newcastle and South Shields.

And while there will be a little family rivalry, Michael insists that they will all be there to encourage each other along.

"At the moment I am quite excited about the run, but I am sure I'll be quite nervous before the race. It can be quite difficult to run on your own, but with other family members running too, it'll be an incentive to keep going," he said.

Dad Peter is originally from the North East, so the family will be staying with their grandmother while they make their final preparations for the big day on Sunday, September 21.

Michael, who is studying maths, graphics, media and physics at Holy Cross College in Bury, will be raising money for Multiple Sclerosis, along with his family.
