A 29-YEAR-OLD Darwen man was arrested after a police officer saw him urinating on the window of the Golden Grill takeaway in Market Street.
James Martin Moffatt, of Newton Street, pleaded guilty at Blackburn magistrates to urinating in a public place. He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months and ordered to pay £30 costs.
Peter Wild, prosecuting, said Moffatt had made no attempt to conceal what he was doing shortly after midnight on Sunday when there were numerous people about.
Basharat Ditta, defending, said Moffatt had asked the owners of the takeaway if he could use their toilet but they had refused.
"He says he was actually in a side alley and no one saw him except the officer," he added.
